10 May 2011 - New objects added to DHO:Discovery feature two collections of photographs from the Library of the Royal Irish Academy. The first series of photographs record the damage to Dublin from the Easter Rising in 1916. The second series of sepia- tone photographs date from the late nineteenth century and feature views of the former Museum of the RIA. Treasures from the Gold Room and artefacts previously displayed in the Long Room and the Crypt were transfered to the National Museum of Ireland. These wonderful images feature artefacts such as The Book Shrine of The Soiscal Molaise (Gospel of St. Molaise) and the Cross of Cong amongst others. Both of these collections enhance the growing number of digital artefacts referenced by DHO:Discovery and available for search and discovery.
